Queens Jubilee passed two

walter coupeWell what can I say, after being in freemasonry for 20 years I am sorry to say I had never visited our Mother Lodge, Queens Jubilee Lodge 2193.    On my arrival I was greeted warmly and felt quite at home especially when a further six Pendle Lodge members arrived.

queens jubilee passing colneIt was a ceremony of passing to the second degree  which was done very well indeed by W.Bro Peter Jackson and his team. And to put the icing on the cake for me was when in “any other business” it was proposed that the Lodge would donate £150 to the Team Geronimo Parachute Jump.

As everyone in the Province will now be aware, the Tandem Parachute Jump will take place on the 14th of May 2016 with all sponsorship monies going to the East Lancashire Masonic Charities.

When this idea first got going we hoped to raise up to £8,000 with eight jumpers, as it is now we have seven jumpers and can say we have just passed the £10,000 and dare I say possibly up to £11.000.I don’t need to say how proud we should be of these six Freemasons from the Burnley and Pendle District and one lady from Hewlett Court (Julie Ward) especially if you think to yourself “would I do that at any price”?.

So would I recommend a visit to Queens Jubilee 2193. Well yes, but don’t just take my word for it, go along and see for yourselves I’m sure you will not be disappointed
