It’s 300 years since four London Lodges met to establish the world’s first Grand Lodge for freemasons. Today there are over 6.5 million freemasons worldwide.
2017 was a special year for Freemasonry as it traced its roots to this historic meeting. Celebrations range from giving a film crew unique access to the people and traditions behind Freemasonry to a year-long programme packed with events. Car rallies, church services, fund-raisers and family fun days – there is something for everyone.
The high point In East Lancashire Province was 10th June with a celebratory dinner at the Macron Stadium in Bolton, the focus of which was simply to have fun, with a party worthy of a 300th birthday! Following on from the huge success of our 2015 Festival Dinner, we know that this venue will provide us with the perfect place to enjoy the occasion in style and with great live entertainment to dance the evening away. Again, it will be the opportunity to bring along non-Masons and allow them to see another aspect of what Freemasonry is about. We anticipate that this, as with all our events, will be hugely popular and with facilities to stay the night on site, it will be a party to remember for all the right reasons.
